This year the Community Relations Committee of the Chicago Paint and Coatings Association will host our 13th ANNUAL “Paint a Brighter Chicago” project, on Saturday, August 1, 2009. This project is designed to brighten the environment for some of the less fortunate of Chicago. This year we are working with the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club to paint their facility make a better atmosphere for the club’s participants.  The Club provides the following programs:  Tot Lot, Baby PhD, Before and After School, Open Gym, Independent Senior, Teen and Youth classes. In addition, The Hyde Park Neighborhood Club provides literacy and tutoring programs. The Club provides services to over 300 people a week. The Hyde Park Neighborhood Club was founded in 1909 as part of the settlement house movement to serve the neglected and abandoned youth in the neighborhood. It was appropriately named “The Club” as a reaction to the exclusivity of private clubs of the time and it continues to serve as a place for people of all races and economic classes to come together. Today, the Club is a multi-faceted agency serving as a beacon to young and old alike who live in this diverse and vibrant area and the surrounding neighborhoods of the south side of Chicago.  Our committee will provide paint, supplies, and volunteers who will paint the whole facility.  The Chicago Paint & Coatings Association is committed to this project, and we are looking to our member companies to help us reach this goal.  In order to make this project a success, the Community Relations Committee is asking for your support in the form of a monetary donation. If you or your company would be willing to donate towards this project, the people of Hyde Park, the Community Relations Committee, and The Chicago Paint & Coatings Association would greatly appreciate your generosity.  To make a donation, please complete the form attached to this sheet and fax it to 859-357-6568, by July 10, 2009.
